Mitei no Hanashi Performs New Ending Theme for Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Anime

The official website for the new anime of Riku Sanjō and Kōji Inada’s Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken) manga announced on Saturday that singer-songwriter Mitei no Hanashi (Peach Boy Riverside ending theme) will perform the show’s new ending theme song “Tobutori wa” (The Flying Bird is). The song will debut in the show with the 75th episode on April 30. The new theme song will mark the show’s entry into its seventh cours (quarter of a year).

Arknights: Prelude to Dawn TV Anime’s Teaser Promo Video Streamed

The official website for Arknights: Prelude to Dawn, the television anime adaptation of the Arknights smartphone game, began streaming a teaser video for the anime on Saturday. Takashi Matsuyama will play the character Ace in the anime. The character is unvoiced in the game. Yostar Pictures described the anime as a “season one” when it announced the show in October 2021.

PlayStation Plus Relaunches with New Features, Tiers on June 1 in Japan

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced on Friday that it will launch previously announced new features and tiers for its PlayStation Plus service on May 23 in Asian markets excluding Japan, June 1 in Japan, June 13 in the Americas, and June 22 in Europe. In addition, cloud streaming access will be expanded to the following locations for a total of 30 markets with cloud streaming access: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

‘Play It Cool, Guys’ Manga Gets TV Anime in October

Studio Pierrot announced on Friday that it is producing a television anime adaptation of Kokone Nata’s Play It Cool, Guys (Cool Doji Danshi) manga that will premiere in October. The studio also revealed the anime’s teaser promotional video, key visual, cast, and staff.

The Mandalorian, Star Wars: Visions Both Get Manga Adaptations

The May issue of Square Enix’s Big Gangan magazine revealed on Monday that both the Star Wars: Visions anthology anime and The Mandalorian spinoff series for the Star Wars franchise will have manga adaptations that will debut in the magazine’s next issue on May 25. A number of manga creators will work on the manga adaptation of Star Wars: Visions. Kamome Shirahama (Witch Hat Atelier), who drew the character designs for “The Elder” short in the anthology, will draw an adaptation of that short for the magazine’s June issue.

Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time Anime Season 2

The official website for the second season of the television anime of Daisuke Hiyama’s Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time (Peter Grill to Kenja no Jikan) manga revealed the second season’s title as Peter Grill to Kenja no Jikan Super Extra. The anime’s first season premiered in July 2020. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for home video and digital release, and HIDIVE and Crunchyroll both streamed the anime as it aired. HIDIVE also streamed an English dub. Sentai Filmworks released the anime on Blu-ray Disc on October 12.

Even if Tempest Switch Game Launches on June 9

The official website for the even if Tempest visual novel announced on Tuesday that the game will launch for Nintendo Switch digitally on June 9. Visual novel developer Voltage began streaming a promotional trailer for the game on its YouTube channel on Wednesday. The game will be Voltage’s first original release for Switch. The release will include both Japanese and English text.

Sasaki and Miyano Anime’s OVA Previewed in Video

Kadokawa began streaming a “digest video” on Friday for the upcoming OVA that will ship on DVD with the ninth volume of Shō Harusono’s Sasaki and Miyano manga on July 27. Harusono drafted the original anime episode, titled “Koi ni Kizuku Mae no Chotto Shita Hanashi.” The episode is considered the 13th episode of the television anime series. The staff of the anime announced in March that there would be a new anime in the franchise. The announcement was made after the original announcement for the OVA, which was announced in December.

Mahjong Soul Online Game Unveils Kaguya-sama: Love is War Collab

The official English Twitter account of the Mahjong Soul online mahjong game recently released more details about their upcoming collaboration event with the Kaguya-sama: Love is War Ultra Romantic anime, including a new trailer and some eye-catching illustrations of the Kaguya-sama cast in new outfits. Hero’s Inc. announced on Tuesday that Aoi Akashiro and Sonshō Hangetsuban’s Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudō (What God Does in a World Without Gods) manga is inspiring a television anime. Hero’s Inc. unveiled seven variations of the anime’s teaser visual, showing different expressions of the main character Yukito and the god Mitama on his shoulder. The manga centers on Yukito, the heir of a questionable cult’s leader. After an unfortunate death, he reincarnates in a world without the concepts of god and religion.

Utawarerumono Spinoff Game Monochrome Mobius Gets English PC Release

Publisher Shiravune announced on Monday that it and DMM Games will release AQUAPLUS’ Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten (Monochrome Mobius: Toki no Taika) game in English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese on Steam on September 8. In addition, the game’s official website revealed that the game will also ship in Japan on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 8. Shiravune is streaming an English-subtitled trailer for the game. AQUAPLUS is also streaming the opening video and the teasers for the game.

Wit Studio’s Pokémon: Hisuian Snow Web Animated Series Premieres on May 18

The Pokémon Company International announced on Tuesday that the online animated series set in the Hisui region, based on the Pokémon Legends: Arceus game, will be titled Pokémon: Hisuian Snow. The three-episode anime by Wit Studio will premiere on May 18 on the official Pokémon YouTube channel and the Pokémon TV app.

Sadako DX Film’s Teaser Reveals More Cast

The official website for Sadako DX, the new live-action film in the Ring franchise, unveiled a new teaser trailer, visual, and cast members on Tuesday. Hisashi Kimura is directing the film. Yūya Takahashi (Lupin the IIIrd: Fujiko Mine’s Lie, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid) is writing the script. Filming has finished for the new movie, and it will open this fall.

Super Mario Bros. Film Delayed to April 2023 Globally

Super Mario Bros. creator Shigeru Miyamoto announced on Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account on Monday that Nintendo and Illumination have delayed the global opening of their Super Mario Bros. animated film to spring 2023. Kadokawa began streaming the fourth promotional video on Tuesday for the Date A Live IV anime. The video previews the show’s “Mukuro Arc,” featuring the character Mukuro Hoshimiya (voiced by Akari Kageyama). The anime premiered on the AT-X channel on April 8. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs and is also streaming an English dub. The anime was originally slated to premiere in October, but was then delayed to this year for “various reasons.”

Live Nation Japan and Promax Inc. announced on Monday that the “Ace Attorney 20th Anniversary Online Concert” will stream worldwide (excluding some areas) from May 7 to May 15 on Zaiko. Bandai Namco Filmworks unveiled a new trailer and visual for the Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island (Kidō Senshi Gundam: Cucuruz Doan no Shima) anime film on Wednesday. The trailer previews the film’s theme song “Ubugoe” (Baby’s First Cry) by Hiroko Moriguchi, and also reveals two cast members. The trailer has both a 60-second and 30-second version. The film’s original announcement described the film as a retelling of the 15th episode of the original Mobile Suit Gundam television anime. The episode itself has been omitted from English releases of the series.

A website opened on Wednesday to announce that Gido Amagakure’s A Galaxy Next Door manga is inspiring a television anime next year. Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English, and it describes the “heartwarming romantic comedy”.

Touring After the Apocalypse’s Sakae Saito Launches Super Cub Spinoff Manga

The official Twitter account for Kadokawa’s Comic Newtype website announced on Tuesday that Sakae Saito (Touring After the Apocalypse) will launch a spinoff manga of Tone Koken’s Super Cub light novels on April 29. The manga will center on the character Reiko. Kadokawa’s Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint began releasing Tone Koken’s Super Cub novels with illustrations by Hiro in May 2017. The novel series’ eighth and final volume launched on March 1. Kanitan launched a manga adaptation on Kadokawa’s Comic Newtype website in December 2017.

Spike Chunsoft revealed the RESEARCH and DESTROY game’s new costume DLC on Monday, which includes crossovers with Steins;Gate, Danganronpa 2, Zero Escape, and AI: The Somnium Files. The official website for the anime of Negi Haruba’s The Quintessential Quintuplets (Gotōbun no Hanayome) manga announced on Wednesday that the series is getting a new bonus chapter 122+1 that takes place after the original ending. The manga will be part of a special book volume 14.5, that will be distributed as a gift to attendees of the (Eiga Gotōbun no Hanayome (The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie) sequel anime film. This year’s 25th issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine will publish chapter 122+1 on May 18. The film will open in Japan on May 20, and its runtime will exceed 130 minutes. The film will serve as the finale for the story.
